LSAT Question Explanation
PT 108, Section 3, Question 6
Explain or ResolveExplanation
This explain question isn't paradoxical at all, immediately I'm thinking that the wastewater could have killed many bass, the bass moved away when the waste entered the water, or anglers (fishermen) no longer wanted to fish in the water because it was polluted.
Answer choices
More bass potentially being eaten by predators would explain why less bass were being caught by fishermen.
This shows that the wastewater disrupted the bass' habitat and they moved away, so naturally anglers would catch fewer bass in the affected area.
This doesn't explain why fewer bass were caught. If there are more fishermen then I would expect more bass to be caught.
This could explain why fewer bass were caught, simply because there were fewer fishermen to catch them.
This shows that the wastewater had negative effects on the bass' habitat, which could lead to bass dying or moving away. This would explain why fishermen caught fewer bass in the area.
